Lost

Oh yeah, and I watched the pilot of Lost.. how has it become such a smash hit? I'm guessing they ironed out the wrinkles in the series, but jeez - what tripe!

And don't get me started on boy from Hetty Wainthrop Investigates... jumped up little squirt - "well, I was a hobbit".. something about him makes my blood boil.

Phil and I were fully expecting it to be dinosaurs or something stupid in the bushes - but equally as stupid/suspicious, a polar bear - I ask you! *tsk*

Half way

Only a week left of working soley with my Uncle - as sweet and nice as he is, he talks the hind legs of a donkey - current record of talking non-stop (this includes me only saying 'yeah', 'uhuh' and nodding) = 104 minutes... lol

The geek didn't win in the end - I refer of cousre to BB6, I wanted Eugene to win. But I think the way he was so happy just to be in the final made it all ok - everyone else was vacuous and obnoxious. Hopefully, that'll be the end of the idea.

Shock horror, finally found a club night which would actually interest me! Feeling Glomy - yep, thats right. Plays nothing but sad music all night - which could actually be a good idea! Sad songs are often taken the wrong way, and what could have been an angsty anthem by the writer turns out to be associated with deep joy or happy occasions by the listening.

Take Athlete's 'Wires' - its such a beautiful song, and although it makes me cry as its so vividly about his daughters first days of life in intensive care, the reason I'm crying and so happy is becasue its a song celebrating her being a few years on - that she made it, and "looking back you would never know".

It's being held in a venue just near Liverpool Street tube (I think,) and it's £4 on the door before 10pm or something like that. It's a bit too far for me to go, and seeing as I don't live in London it would be difficult to get back, but I'l definately be looking again for another thing like that. Regular nights out are so dull.

I've got a 4 digit Yahoo password!

Nah, nah nah nah, nah!

To most people this fact probably won't mean anything or cause any interest, but yes, I have a Yahoo account so old, that I still have a 4 character password. When I told my boyfriend he was astounded!

Gone are the days when all you needed was simple short word for your account - sure some places accept 6 digits, but with more accounts being opened and the like you're more likely to be asked for 8... which annoys me greatly. How many words, which you can remember to spell, and aren't stupid or completely random can you think of with 8 letters? I'm telling you, everytime I come to log into my paypal account I have to sit and think for a minute 'what is it again?!'.

Anyhoo. Commuting from St Johns, Woking to Esher every day as my folks have gone on holiday - geez, I tell you I don't fancy doing this for the rest of my life! However, of all my commutes this has been least stressful - walking 30 minutes, catching a hovercraft, then a bus (totally 4 hours in journey everyday) is far worse than a bus then train, although in the mornings its just full of suits and families thinking what a brilliant time to go on their day trip to london *grr* - thats definately the case on the way back home of an evening.

I'm getting quite annoyed recently - I seem to have no control over anything! I havn't been able to chose where I work, I am at the mercy of public transport, I can't go on holiday (because I wouldn't be able to get time off, and have to save for my last year at uni), can't see phil when I want to - it's just generally driving me insane!!!

I'm trying to make myself feel better by doing things which will change me (lol) i.e. going to the gym 3 times a week, making sure my hair grows longer (and much blonder in the sun), having extra piercings done - but it all leaves me feeling shallow and bored. Am I having a mid life crisis in my 20's?!!!

Well, we all know why I do psychology now don't we ;)

oooh, new piercing

bonjour!

Been working... thats about it... oh yeah, and my 18 year old sister got engaged *rollseyes* - I'll try not to laugh when I see her on Friday (coming back off her holiday with her 'fiance' then), but it's a silly idea... anyhow...

New piercing!!

I only had it done yesterday, and mines a black ball and bar (nicer than the regular silver methinks) and its through a weird part of my ear (see picture - of someone else but almost exactly the same place - mine's slightly higher up, but it was still REALLY difficult to find lol!!)

Surprisingly, it doesn't hurt! I thought it would hurt like stink - but if you've ever read my accounts of my tattoo removal, I'd say having the lasering hurts more than the brief crunchiness of a needle going through some cartilidge.

Right, I have to photocopy some planning applications - be back soon!!

www.werenotafraid.com

Long time no hear eh. Here’s a run down on the last month of my life!

  • Finished all exams and felt they went well
  • Completed school placement at IOW – decided teaching is NOT for me lol. I did however enjoy working with the SEN kids (special educational needs) and was a bit miffed I didn’t have more time to work with them.
  • Got heat exhaustion and was throwing up for a few days *nice*
  • Moved out of my house in Stansted Rd- was kind of sad, and a lot of hard work!
  • Started working for my dad, basically doing everything he doesn’t want to / have time for lol
  • Looking into getting a second job in the evenings and weekends – I want/need the money
  • Went to London and was caught up in the bombings last week. We were checking out of our hotel just as the bomb on the bus went off – it was very scary as we were a stop away form Edgeware tube station, and had been there and kings cross the night before when we went to a comedy club (the comedy café, very good by the way :) ). We had to walk out of the city, it was too scary to go on a bus –we walked from paddington to Acton. Took 2.5 hours. In the rain.
  • Met up with some friends last night for a BBQ – nice to see them, one is going away or a sandwich year in Singapore in two weeks, which is really cool. I hope she has a brilliant experience.
  • Oh, and had our ex-landord mucking us about with our deposits and taking forever to get them back to us – as well as claiming we had gas bills we hadn’t paid for *grrr*

Anyway, yeah, that’s been my last few weeks. Not much else to say – just working now til September so may not post much until then.

wow - old photos

I don't normally take pictures or keep them - the fact that I don't really have a camera adds to this fact, so when looking through my files for some bank stuff I stumbled across a load of old passport photos and stuff from like 10 years ago! It made me giggle and thought others may enjoy my embarassment as to how I used to look... enjoy!

Chronologically it starts with me in my brownie costume - don't know how old I am, must have been in about 1991/1992, then we move around clockwise until we get to the big picture of me in my safeway uniform *yay*, that was when I was employee of the month, and this little baby was on the staff pinboard for ages during the summer of 2003. We carry on starting with the picture of me bottom middle of the larger one, and upwards until the last photo was only last summer! Was september as I was hoping to use it for my student ID - but instead I'm still stuck with the one two pictures before *sigh*.

There you go, so you should all keep those silly little passport photos that are left over so you can have a giggle/reminisce in years to come. Incidentally the first small pic of me is still in my passport which doesn't run out for a few years yet lol.

the problems with cognitivism...

...and many other such intersting subjects will be my bread and butter for the next week. My developmental exam yesterday was, well, quite poo. The essay questions were OK I guess, but the multiple choice - it was all things like "what did Rogoff study? Gender identity/gender schemata/reinforcement of gender stereotypes" etc - it was imposible to even guess if you didn't know, and as it was negatively marked I actually simply left a couple of them unanswered.

I have (half) a job lined up for the summer now! My dad and uncle's business is expanding quite quickly and they need some admin asistance a few days a week in the office - at better pay than I was on before, but it also means that I'd have to go and get a second job for the other two, maybe three days a week I'll have free. Phil's job hunting isn't going well either - his mum finally got around to going back to Tesco and getting another application (after she lost his frst one, so it's only fair lol) but they aren't recruiting. He sounded a little bit down when he told me, but his brother has also just finished secondary school so he may just muck around with him until he passes his driving test.. or at least, I suggested that.

Right, anyone know any alternatve approaches to remembering? Thought not...

"i'm not goff, and no way am I EMO"

Whilst in Burger King the other day a bunch of 'alternatively' dressed kids came in, being loud and generally kind of annoying. What really caught my attention was when they decided to discuss 'what' they were - hence the I'm not a goff reference (and yes, she did actually say goof, not goth. Her boyfriend corrected her grammer, the only good thing about them). It just denotes to me that tey are very sad and unfulfilled in their personality/identity that they need to label themselves - you dress how to want to, you listen to wat you want to, if you are so contrived as to fit into one specific category of dress/music/interests, then you have my sympathy.

On another note, ladies, get yourself measured regularly! I just found out at the weekend that I've been wearing the wrong size bra for about, hmmm, 5 years!! Phil was a happy bunny though - I've 'gone up' a cup size and down in the number measurment, makes me sound a lot more impressive lol.

someone got a bargain :(

Oh well, thats what you get when you list something for 99p on eBay - a really great top I know I'd never wear again went for less than a pound - I think it cost me about 2000% more!! lol.

Had a fantastic weekend! Although, when I woke up on Friday morning and our bathroom was flooded I didn't think all would go to plan... but that go fixed, and I spent some cool time with Phil, then met up with my parents and dads side of the family (yep, all 9 of us!) for a meal to commemorate my Dad and Uncle going into business together - Trinder Architectural Consultants, they're great!

Was going to go back home yesterday, but decided to use the ful day to do revision - did a lot of work, and Phil finished off his old courseowrk for re-submission. Once he gets this BTEC thingy, he can go on to do the foundation year in Norwich for a aeroplane maintenance and engineering degree *oooh*. So all is going well on that front.

Not feeling too hot today, got a bit of a squiffy tummy and cramps (damn IBS) so bit of a poo 'start' to my new week.

oooohh... neighbours is on!! See ya!
